Question. Are we then left without Christ’s help and protection because He is no longer bodily present with us?
Answer. Certainly not. Although Christ is seated at the right hand of God, He continues to rule the world with His power, wisdom, and providence. He governs and directs all things according to His perfect will. As He promised, He also sends His Holy Spirit from heaven into our hearts as the sure pledge and assurance of His love and favor. Through the Holy Spirit, He brings us out of darkness into the light of truth. He opens the eyes of our minds to understand God’s will, drives sorrow from our hearts, comforts us in our trials, and gives us strength to persevere. Christ will continue to do all these things for His Church until the end of the world.
