Question. What profit bringeth it to us that Christ rose again?
Answer. Manifold and diverse. For from this resurrection comes to us the desire, virtue, and strength to live well and holy lives. Through it, Christ gives us the righteousness that we formerly lacked. And by His resurrection from death to life, Christ has become for us the author of life. From this comes our hope that our mortal bodies also will one day be restored from death and rise again, because He has made us partakers of His resurrection and life. For it cannot be that Christ, our Head, having risen again, should allow us, the members of His body, to be consumed and utterly destroyed by death.

Answer. As Scripture teaches that Christ was raised for our justification, so it also teaches that we should follow His example by rising from the dead works of sin and living lives of righteousness and holiness. To enable us to do this, Christ gives us strength through the power and virtue of His glorious resurrection.
