Question: Why is it added that God is the Creator of heaven and earth?
Scholar: Because the greatness, wisdom, and goodness of God, which are in themselves beyond our understanding, are seen in His works, as in a mirror. For when we see that vast greatness of the world, and all its parts so made that they could not possibly be more beautiful nor better for their purpose, we immediately understand the infinite power, wisdom, and goodness of the One who made and built it.

Question. How do you say that God created all things?
Answer: That God, the most good and mighty Father, in the beginning and out of nothing, by the power of His Word—that is, Jesus Christ His Son—formed and made this whole visible world, and everything contained in it, and also the incorporeal spirits whom we call angels.

Question. But do you think it godly to say that God created all spirits, even those wicked spirits whom we call devils?
Answer. God did not create them so; but they, by their own evil, fell from their first creation, without hope of recovery, and so have become evil—not by creation and nature, but by the corruption of their nature.
